On Thursday, Front Royal HomeSchool came up short against Southern Maryland Christian Academy and fell 9-4.
Front Royal HomeSchool saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brooks Reuwer, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Quantico, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Seton 7-6. The victory was some much needed relief for the Warriors as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
Gunner Wolfenbarker was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Quantico: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 0-6 otherwise. Dominic Sotelo also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Quantico was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .448. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2025.
Front Royal HomeSchool's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Quantico, their record is now 3-6.
Friday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Front Royal HomeSchool has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .442. However, it's not like Quantico struggles in that department as they've averaged .450. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Front Royal HomeSchool got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in March against Quantico by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Flames since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
