Belleview is 9-0 against the Hurricanes since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Belleview Rattlers will face off against the Citrus Hurricanes at 6:30 p.m. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Belleview blew past the Hurricanes, posting a 52-14 win at home. Given Belleview's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 246th, while the Hurricanes are ranked 515th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Belleview to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aaliyah Armbrister, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds. Albanis Mogollon was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Citrus can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They blew past Central 52-31. The win was just what Citrus needed coming off of a 44-2 defeat in their prior game.
Belleview has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for Citrus, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-16.
Belleview strolled past the Hurricanes in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a score of 39-20. Does Belleview have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hurricanes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
