On Monday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Benton beat Meadowbrook Christian 47-41. The win was just what Benton needed coming off of a 59-19 loss in their prior game.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Neumann Regional Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of Northwest Area by a score of 52-49. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Neumann Regional Academy has suffered yet this season.
Despite their defeat, Neumann Regional Academy saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Messiah Baldwin, who scored 22 points, was perhaps the best of all. Baldwin has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last seven times he's played. Another player making a difference was Tyrick Moy, who scored 15 points.
Benton's victory ended a eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-7. As for Neumann Regional Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.
Benton was dealt a bruising 87-32 loss at the hands of Neumann Regional Academy when the teams last played back in January of 2023.
