Basketball Game Preview: Great Plains Lutheran Panthers vs. Clark/Willow Lake Cyclones

Great Plains Lutheran is 2-7 against Clark/Willow Lake since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Great Plains Lutheran Panthers will venture away from home to take on the Clark/Willow Lake Cyclones at 7:30 p.m. Great Plains Lutheran is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.

Great Plains Lutheran will bounce into Monday's matchup after beating Castlewood, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Great Plains Lutheran strolled past Castlewood with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 42-25.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Great Plains Lutheran to victory, but perhaps none more so than Katherine Prahl, who went 5 of 8 on her way to 11 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds. Prahl is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. Abby Kjenstad was another key player, putting up 11 points along with six boards and three blocks.

Meanwhile, Clark/Willow Lake unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 41-40 to Flandreau.

Great Plains Lutheran pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.7 points per game. As for Clark/Willow Lake, their loss dropped their record down to 8-3.

Great Plains Lutheran strolled past Clark/Willow Lake in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 by a score of 64-45. The rematch might be a little tougher for Great Plains Lutheran since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
