On Saturday, the Summit SkyHawks's game was all tied up 19-19 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top against Buena by a score of 51-42.
Despite the loss, Buena still got an impressive performance from Luke Ortiz, who dropped a triple-double on 11 points, 25 rebounds, and 11 blocks. The matchup was Ortiz's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Josh ullegue was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with three steals.
Even though they lost, Buena were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Summit's victory bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Buena, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Summit and Yucaipa will face off at 7:00 p.m. on December 12th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Yucaipa is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Buena, they will be playing at home against Santa Barbara at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Santa Barbara is ranked 502nd, while Buena is ranked 480th).
