Basketball Game Preview: Friendship Tech Prep Academy Titans vs. West Catholic Burrs

The Friendship Tech Prep Academy Titans and the West Catholic Burrs will compete for holiday cheer at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Friendship Tech Prep Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Last Tuesday, Friendship Tech Prep Academy got the win against Parkside by a conclusive 89-63. The Titans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Friendship Tech Prep Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Malik Shackleford, who posted 19 points along with seven assists and four steals. Shackleford's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of David Bumpass, who put up 18 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals.

Shackleford wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Friendship Tech Prep Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 27 assists. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now racked up at least 23 assists in five consecutive games.

Meanwhile, West Catholic had to suffer through a 82-45 loss at the hands of Prince George?s Christian Academy. The Burrs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Friendship Tech Prep Academy pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 39.5 points. As for West Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
