The Cedar Creek Cougars were the 67-61 winner over the Ouachita Christian Eagles when they last played one another last Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. Cedar Creek took a 72-53 bruising from Ouachita Christian on Friday. Cedar Creek has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Cedar Creek saw an underclassman step up: Jake Doan scored 17 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Doan has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last three times he's played. Brett Bell was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds.
Cedar Creek's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Ouachita Christian, their win bumped their record up to 12-15.
Cedar Creek will be playing at home against Lincoln Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lincoln Prep will roll in looking for their 14th straight win, something Cedar Creek surely won't give up without a fight. As for Ouachita Christian, they will head out on the road to take on St. Frederick at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Frederick knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matchups -- so hopefully Ouachita Christian likes a good challenge.
