Basketball Game Preview: Warren County Screaming Devils vs. Lake Oconee Academy Titans

Warren County hasn't had much luck against Lake Oconee Academy recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Warren County Screaming Devils will take on the Lake Oconee Academy Titans at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Warren County is headed into Monday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Friday. They took a blow against Lincoln County, falling 74-40. The Screaming Devils were down 53-30 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

The losing side was boosted by Courtney Bray, who posted 21 points and five steals. Her evening made it nine games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tamia Williams, who earned ten points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Even though they lost, Warren County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in seven consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Lake Oconee Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They lost 57-34 to Washington-Wilkes. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Titans have suffered since February 3, 2024.

Lake Oconee Academy's loss dropped their record down to 14-6. As for Warren County, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-11.

Warren County couldn't quite finish off Lake Oconee Academy in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 and fell 57-55. Thankfully for Warren County, Georgia Bosart (who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 12 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
