Huron recap Oct. 9, 2012
Milan extended the longest winning streak in Huron this week by beating Riverview, 38-13. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.
St. Mary Catholic Central took down Flat Rock 44-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Austin Hoover was the best wideout in the league this week as Milan defeated the Pirates. Hoover racked up one reception for 50 yards. Gage Smith helped Milan's passing attack out by catching one ball for 24 yards.
Arthur Dukes III was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 206 yards on 15 carries as Jesse Hoskins' team beat Riverview. Robert Kanitz also contributed to the rushing game with 44 yards on the ground.
Andrew Mitroka put up the best numbers through the air as Grosse Ile defeated Huron. He finished with a total of five completions for 90 yards and one touchdown. Mitroka's favorite target this week was Danny McCarty, who caught two passes for 50 yards.
Thanks to the talents of Justin Aceves and Dukes III the Big Reds have been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Aceves leads the league in passing with 676 yards, while Dukes III has rushed for 1162 yards this season. The Chiefs' DEMARCUS BUNN leads the league in receiving yards with 321 on 13 catches.
A big matchup in Huron this week will be when Airport takes on Milan. The Jets are in third place, while the Big Reds are in first place.
The Falcons/Kestrels led the league in scoring this week after putting up 44 points on the Rams.
