The Bainbridge Bearcats's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Glynn Academy Terrors at 11:30 a.m. on December 28th. Bainbridge has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Last Saturday, Bainbridge narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Seminole County 50-47.
Ahleah Jones continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a triple-double on 16 points, 14 rebounds, and nine steals. That's the first time this season that she pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kyra Green, who scored six points along with ten rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, even though Bryan County scored an imposing 55 points on Wednesday, Glynn Academy still came out on top. Glynn Academy came out on top against Bryan County by a score of 61-55 (the very same score they lost by the week prior). The victory was all the more spectacular given Glynn Academy's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 217th, while Bryan County is ranked 78th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Glynn Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Martin Davis, who scored 21 points. The match was Davis' fourth in a row with at least ten points. Mar'kuecia Burton was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Bainbridge's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-6. As for Glynn Academy, their win bumped their record up to 4-7.
Thursday's match is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Bainbridge have been dynamite from deep this season, having nailed 41% of their threes per game. It's a different story for Glynn Academy, though, as they've only made 31.8% of their threes per game this season.
