Basketball Recap: Lakeland Christian Academy Piles Up the Points Against Clinton Christian

Lakeland Christian Academy had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.6 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They breezed by the Clinton Christian Couriers to the tune of 62-33. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 23 points or more this season.

Leading Lakeland Christian Academy to victory were Katie Reimink and Olivia Hawks. Reimink went 7 for 12 on her way to 19 points, while Hawks went 8 of 14 on her way to 17 points and eight rebounds. Reimink continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dayton Sibert, who went 7 of 15 on her way to 14 points and seven rebounds.

Several Couriers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Saghan Schlabach, who posted ten points. Kalli Bontrager was another key player, putting up seven points along with five boards and three steals.

Lakeland Christian Academy pushed their record up to 9-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.4 points per game. As for Clinton Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

Lakeland Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 45-25 defeat against DeMotte Christian on the 28th. As for Clinton Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 51-38 victory against South Bend Career Academy on the 27th.
