The Hollins Royals will face off against the St. Petersburg Green Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
Thursday just wasn't the day for Hollins' offense. They fell just short of East Lake by a score of 2-0 on Thursday. The Royals haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Riley McDonald put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases.

In other pitching news, Hollins got a good showing from Kyle Morrill, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Morrill has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
Meanwhile, St. Petersburg can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They blew past Boca Ciega 9-1.
Owen Landers looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. St. Petersburg is 2-1 when Landers allows two or fewer hits, but 6-12-1 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Garrett Perdek was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple marked the first that he hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Nelson, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI.
St. Petersburg's victory bumped their record up to 8-13-1. As for Hollins, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-14.
Hollins' speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's matchup. The Royals have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game.
