Softball Recap: Kingswood Wins Going Away Against Laconia

Kingswood won the last time they faced Laconia and things went their way on Monday too. The Knights put the hurt on the Sachems with a sharp 16-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won eight contests by 12 runs or more so far this season.

Kingswood got a great performance from Lexi M as she tossed 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. The dominant performance also gave M a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

At the plate, Avery G was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. Cassidy L was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.

Kingswood kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Laconia only managed eight hits.

Kingswood has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Laconia, they moved to 8-6 with that defeat, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Kingswood will challenge rival Stark at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Laconia is set to take on their familiar foe Merrimack Valley at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
