Basketball Recap: David Cannon's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Johnson Ferry Christian Academy over Georgia Force Christian

Johnson Ferry Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 82-67 to the Georgia Force Christian Blue Knights. While the Saints didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Blue Knights 18-13 in the first quarter.

Johnson Ferry Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being David Cannon, who went 6 for 11 en route to 17 points along with seven assists and six boards. That's the most rebounds Cannon has posted since back in November of 2024. Luke Newman was another key player, going 8 of 15 on his way to 18 points.

Cannon wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Johnson Ferry Christian Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Georgia Force Christian only racked up 12 assists.

Georgia Force Christian was led to victory by Carter McCarn and CJ Britt. McCarn went 9 for 16 en route to 30 points and five boards, while Britt almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds. The match was McCarn's 22nd in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Knox Britt, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine boards.

Johnson Ferry Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Georgia Force Christian, they pushed their record up to 14-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.
