After flying high against the Rossford Bulldogs last Friday, The Genoa Area Comets came back down to earth. Genoa Area took a 36-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of Eastwood on Friday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Genoa Area in their matchups with Eastwood: they've now lost four in a row.
Eastwood's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Caiden Maize, who rushed for 175 yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Kadyn Donnell, who rushed for 99 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries.
Genoa Area's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Eastwood, their win was their tenth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 8-2.
Genoa Area will take on Huron at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Eastwood, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Pleasant at 7:00 p.m.
