While losing is never fun, Kimball can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 569th, while Mountain House is ranked 50th).
Despite the loss, Kimball still got an impressive performance from Jaden Ryan, who scored 17 points along with 9 rebounds. Ryan scored a full 28.3% of Kimball's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Dawson Pelech was another key contributor, scoring 9 points.
Mountain House's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ej Campbell led the charge by scoring 15 points along with 6 rebounds. The matchup was Campbell's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Gabriel Williams, who scored 9 points along with 9 rebounds.
Kimball has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. As for Mountain House, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Kimball will face off against Calaveras at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Calaveras focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Saturday. As for Mountain House, they will take on Menlo-Atherton at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Menlo-Atherton is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
