The Paxton Tigers managed to keep up with the Maywood/Hayes Center Wolves until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Paxton was the victim of a rough 55-30 defeat at the hands of Maywood/Hayes Center. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Paxton has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Paxton still got an impressive performance from Josh Eakins, who scored 14 points. The match was Eakins' ninth in a row with at least ten points.
Paxton struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Maywood/Hayes Center racked up 13 assists.
It was another big night for Jeremiah Ingison, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 19 rebounds for Maywood/Hayes Center. That makes it five consecutive games in which Ingison has scored at least 25% of Maywood/Hayes Center's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Haydn Farr, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Paxton's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Maywood/Hayes Center, they pushed their record up to 10-2 with that victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Paxton will take on Creek Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Maywood/Hayes Center, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Maxwell at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
