After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Air Academy, the Lewis-Palmer Rangers were happy to have found some success on Friday. They strolled past Cheyenne Mountain with points to spare, taking the game 50-31. Given Lewis-Palmer's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 52nd, while the Red-Tailed Hawks are ranked 243rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lewis-Palmer to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brooke Lordino, who scored 19 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Blakesley, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Lewis-Palmer has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for Cheyenne Mountain, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-16 record this season.
Lewis-Palmer will head out on the road to square off against the Bears at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Palmer Ridge has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Cheyenne Mountain, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Lancers at 1:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Hopefully Liberty focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Thursday.
