The Brantley County Herons were the 56-39 winner over the McIntosh County Academy Buccaneers when they last played one another back in February of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The game between the two teams wasn't particularly close, with Brantley County falling 57-38. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points they have scored all season.
McIntosh County Academy's win on Thursday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Derrick Irons, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Mj Quarterman was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds.
Brantley County's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for McIntosh County Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brantley County will take on Vidalia at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for McIntosh County Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Effingham County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
