Safford has been on the road for two straight, but on Wednesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Veritas Prep Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Safford and Empire combined for 22 shots on goal last Tuesday, which explains the impressive seven total goals scored. Safford put the hurt on Empire with a sharp 6-1 victory. Robyn Motes had to tread lightly for part of the match after she was hit with a yellow card, but that was the only trouble Safford got from the refs.
Safford's offense was hitting Empire from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal.
Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Veritas Prep walked away with it. Everything went their way against the Hawks on Thursday as they made off with a 5-1 win. The win was nothing new for Veritas Prep as they're now sitting on four straight.
Safford has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-2-2 record this season. As for Veritas Prep, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-4.
