Hanna and the Raiders are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Hanna Golden Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Rivera Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hanna has now lost 11 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 19.
Last Friday, Hanna was beaten by the Panthers 50-15. While losing is never fun, Hanna can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1064th, while the Panthers are ranked 272nd).
Meanwhile, Rivera was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 46-41 to the Cardinals. Rivera has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Lorraine Perez, who scored 12 points. Daniela Fernandez was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Hanna has been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 14 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-23 record this season. As for Rivera, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-21.
Hanna came up short against the Raiders when the teams last played back in January, falling 41-31. Can Hanna avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
