Shadow Creek blew past the Yellowjackets, posting a 48-20 win at home. Given Shadow Creek's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 121st, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 813th), the result on Saturday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Shadow Creek got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Gianna Gentry out in front who scored seven points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Preston Young, who scored five points along with five rebounds.
Shadow Creek has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-12 record this season. As for Alvin, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-24.
