Monroe dropped their record down to 12-4 on Friday, which also ended the team's 11-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Crosshill Christian Eagles by a score of 8-6. The Dragons were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 10-3.

As for Crosshill Christian, they pushed their record up to 9-6 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games.

For Crosshill Christian's part, Miles Lute made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 6.2 innings while giving up four earned runs off three hits. Lute has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carter Hinderks, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Tayden Isaacson was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one triple and one run.
