Two dominant backs in Ean Pringle and Josh Durant are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Woodland Regional Hawks will be playing at home against the Sheehan Titans at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Woodland Regional will come into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.
Woodland Regional is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They blew past Bloomfield, posting a 42-14 win. The result was nothing new for the Hawks, who have now won ten games by 21 points or more so far this season.

Woodland Regional's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jack Brunetti, who threw for 131 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 11 passes. 108 of Brunetti's passing yards were hauled in by Justin Pringle, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
Meanwhile, Sheehan never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They didn't even let North Branford on the board, marking the Titans' second-straight 42-0 shutout. The Titans pushed the score to 35-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Thunderbirds had no chance of recovering from.
Sheehan's win came from a few key players Woodland Regional will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jake O'Brien, who rushed for 92 yards and one TD on only seven carries, and also threw for 110 yards and three touchdowns. That's the most passing touchdowns he has posted since back in December of 2024. Sheehan's leading receiver Sebastian Rosario was O'Brien's top target yet again, picking up 98 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
One reason for the win was Sheehan's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Nolan Kiely and Richard Van Dyke, who each picked up one sack apiece. Another thorn in North Branford's side was Kiely, who picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made 11 total tackles.
Woodland Regional's record now sits at 11-0. As for Sheehan, their record is now 9-2.
Monday's contest might be decided on the ground. Woodland Regional has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 208.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Sheehan struggles in that department as they've been averaging 188.9 rushing yards. There's a good chance Monday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Woodland Regional was taken down by Sheehan 51-0 in their previous meeting back in December of 2019. Thankfully for the Hawks, Terrence Bogan (who rushed for 170 yards and three TDs on only 15 carries) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
