Anthony McBride and Aaron Tillak provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Santa Clara. The connection went for 79 yards, the longest such play in Mount Hamilton this season.
Willow Glen's Hakeem Mays rumbled for the longest rushing play in the league this season in his game against Lincoln last week. Mays scampered for 82 yards on the play and finished with 297 on the day as his team bested the Lions.
McBride threw for 345 yards and 5 touchdowns. He went 19-31 with 1 interception.
Mays was a beast in the backfield as Willow Glen defeated Lincoln.
Mays was the best running back in the league this week. In 18 carries, he ran for 297 yards as Oscar Caballero's team beat the Bruins. Josh Landers also contributed to the rushing game with 63 yards on the ground.
5-foot-11 quarterback McBride of the Pirates is the league leader in passing yards this season with 751. He has also thrown 11 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Justin Perea. The Willow Glen star has 20 catches for 342 yards.
The Rams are in first place, while Pioneer is in fifth place.
Willow Glen was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from third to first in Mount Hamilton. Earlier in the week, the Rams triumphed over Kevin Collins' team 41-14.
