Providence Academy was the victim of a rough 76-56 defeat at the hands of Christian Academy of Knoxville on Tuesday. Providence Academy has struggled against Christian Academy of Knoxville recently, as their match on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Providence Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Nash Martinez, who scored 14 points. Isaiah Peters-Daniels was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds.
Even though they lost, Providence Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Christian Academy of Knoxville only pulled down eight offensive rebounds.
Christian Academy of Knoxville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bennett Simerlein, who scored 22 points. Simerlein is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 20 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Caden Owens, who scored 24 points along with seven rebounds.
Providence Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-16 record this season. As for Christian Academy of Knoxville, they pushed their record up to 14-12 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home.
