Sayre extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 12 on Friday, dropping them down to 0-8. They were beaten by the Towanda Black Knights 43-14. On the bright side, the 14- point performance marked the Redskins' highest-scoring game to date.

As for Towanda, their win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-6. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their seven-point performance the matchup before.

Tanner Vanderpool went supernova, rushing for 79 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while also picking up 38 receiving yards. That's the most receiving yards he has posted since back in October of 2024.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sayre will challenge Canton at 7:00 p.m. on the 18th. The Redskins will be up against the Warriors' rather soft defense (which has allowed 37.88 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Towanda, they will take on Tunkhannock at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
