The Piedmont Community Charter Patriots waltzed into their matchup on Friday with seven straight wins but they left with eight. They claimed a resounding 74-34 win over Jackson Day at home. Piedmont Community Charter has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Bobby Erwin was his usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with five rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last eight times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavier Wilcher, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Piedmont Community Charter pushed their record up to 11-3 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.4 points per game. As for Jackson Day, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-13.
Piedmont Community Charter will be playing in front of their home fans against Apprentice Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Apprentice Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 689th, while Piedmont Community Charter is ranked 182nd). As for Jackson Day, they will head out on the road to take on St. Anne Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Anne Catholic is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
