The Colonial Christian Cougars were the 47-43 winner over the Calvary Christian EAGLES when they last played one another back in November of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Colonial Christian's rough 65-43 loss to Calvary Christian on Tuesday might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Colonial Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 427th, while Calvary Christian is ranked 209th).
Colonial Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Clayton Gannon, who scored 22 points. Those 22 points set a new season-high mark for him. Gabe Taylor was another key contributor, scoring five points.
Even though they lost, Colonial Christian were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Colonial Christian bumped their record down to 0-5 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Calvary Christian, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Colonial Christian will take on Kokomo HomeSchool at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Calvary Christian, they will play host again and welcome Heritage Hall Christian, where tip off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Heritage Hall Christian is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
