The Bucktail Bucks are taking a road trip to square off against the Lewisburg Green Dragons at 2:30 p.m. on Monday. Bucktail has given up an average of 7 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
While Bucktail's win against Muncy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bucks sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 12-11 victory over the Indians on Thursday. On the hitting side, Bucktail got a massive performance out of Kendall Wagner, who went 2-for-4 with six RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Wagner is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Makenna Stone, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one double.
Meanwhile, Lewisburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 33rd straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Muncy, falling 10-0.
Lewisburg saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emma Apanel, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base. Those hits marked the first that Apanel has got this season.
Bucktail has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Lewisburg, their loss dropped their record down to 0-14.
Lewisburg's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. Bucktail has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.2 strikeouts per game.
