Lake Country Christian is 0-10 against the Lions since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Lake Country Christian Eagles will be staying on the road to face off against the Grace Prep Lions at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. Hopefully Lake Country Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Saturday.
Lake Country Christian pushed their score all the way to 64, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 81-64 bruising from Trinity Christian. While losing is never fun, Lake Country Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 991st, while the Lions are ranked 44th).
Despite the defeat, Lake Country Christian saw an underclassman step up: Jordan Goree scored 21 points. Sam Foley was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Meanwhile, Grace Prep was able to grind out a solid win over the Cougars on Friday, taking the game 41-31. The win made it back-to-back wins for Grace Prep.
Lake Country Christian's loss dropped their record down to 10-25. As for Grace Prep, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 21-9 record this season.
Lake Country Christian might still be hurting after the 80-56 defeat they got from the Lions in their previous meeting back in January. Can Lake Country Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
