Sagemont scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They came out on top against Tri-Cities by a score of 86-75. Given Sagemont's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 14th in Florida, while Tri-Cities is ranked 121st in Georgia), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Sagemont's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Devontae Jean, who scored 21 points. Jean continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Patrick Liburd, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds.
The victory makes it two in a row for Sagemont and bumps their season record up to 9-4. As for Tri-Cities, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.
Sagemont will finish 2023 at home by hosting Berkmar at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Berkmar is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games. Tri-Cities won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Wheeler at 1:30 p.m. on December 28th.
