The Doherty Memorial Highlanders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 59-58 to Burncoat. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Burncoat's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jean Carlos Pimental led the charge by scoring 18 points. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Mwangi, who scored 16 points.
Doherty Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Burncoat, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
Doherty Memorial will be playing at home against South at 6:30 p.m. on January 17th. As for Burncoat, they will head out on the road to face off against St. Paul at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. St. Paul has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 324 points over their last five matchups.
