The Wood-Ridge Blue Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Weequahic Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Wood-Ridge sitting on three straight wins and Weequahic on nine (dating back to last season).
Last Friday, Wood-Ridge strolled past Cresskill with points to spare, taking the game 40-22.
Wood-Ridge's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Jimmy Masucci, who rushed for 181 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.1 yards per carry, and Antonio Loyola, who rushed for 205 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.4 yards per carry. Masucci is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played.
Meanwhile, Weequahic earned a 16-7 victory over Immaculata on Friday.
Wood-Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Weequahic, their win was their ninth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 8-0.
Wood-Ridge might still be hurting after the 28-6 loss they got from Weequahic in their previous meeting back in November of 2021. Can Wood-Ridge avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
