The Montebello Oilers entered their contest against the Schurr Spartans on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Montebello suffered a rough 49-28 defeat at the hands of Schurr. Montebello was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-0.
Elias Navarro had a dynamite game for Schurr, rushing for 174 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 8.3 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Breazeale, who rushed for 35 yards and a touchdown.
Special teams played a big role in the game for Schurr, adding 21 points to the final score. All those points came courtesy of Andrew Murguia: he added 21 points with seven field goals.
Montebello's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Schurr, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-1.
Montebello does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Schurr also has no future games currently scheduled.
