The Ocracoke Dolphins will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Hobgood Charter Raiders at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Ocracoke came tearing into Friday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 62-26 win over Columbia.
Meanwhile, Hobgood Charter scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They really took it to Cape Hatteras for the full four quarters, racking up a 84-50 victory at home. Hobgood Charter pushed the score to 70-37 by the end of the third, a deficit the Hurricanes had no chance of recovering from.
Hobgood Charter's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Khrie Rascoe, who scored 21 points along with six assists and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rascoe has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Zyhe Higgs, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Ocracoke has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Hobgood Charter, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
Ocracoke strolled past the Raiders in their previous meeting last Thursday by a score of 67-53. Does Ocracoke have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Raiders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
