The Harding Raiders won the last time they faced the Boardman Spartans, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Harding walked away with a 60-50 win over the Spartans. Given Harding's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 178th, while the Spartans are ranked 485th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Chaz Coleman was his usual excellent self, scoring 22 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Ny Coleman was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Despite the loss, Boardman still got an impressive performance from Nico Holzschuh, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kaden Mayhew, who scored 11 points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Harding and bumps their season record up to 9-5. As for Boardman, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-13.
Harding will be playing at home against the Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Canfield will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Boardman, they will head out on the road to challenge the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
