The Bethel Bison managed to keep up with the Sumner Spartans until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Bethel was the victim of a tough 72-47 defeat at the hands of Sumner. Bethel has struggled against Sumner recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Several Bison players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kemetrius Babbs, who scored 11 points along with 3 blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Norman Edwards III, who scored 10 points along with 5 rebounds.
Bethel's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Sumner, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bethel will square off against Curtis at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sumner, they will head out on the road to face off against Rogers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Rogers has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 190 points over their last three matchups.
