The Lake Minneola Hawks will venture away from home to  face off against the Pasco Pirates  at 7:00  p.m.  on Monday. Both come into the  game bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
Lake Minneola took a loss when they played away from home  on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed  on Friday. They won by a  run and slipped past Lake Weir  9-8. The Hawks' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most  runs they've scored all season.
 Giselle Mccormick was  incredible,  going 2-for-3 with one  home run, two  runs,  and two  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Nevaeha Parra, who  went 1-for-4 with two  RBI and one  double.
 Mccormick wasn't the only one working in the  hit department: Lake Minneola  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 14  hits. That's the most  hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Pasco earned  a  5-2 win over Hudson  last Thursday. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Cobras recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive  victory against them.
 Abigail Grubbs was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box,  going 1-for-3 with two  RBI and one  double.
 Grubbs wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Sophia Torres, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-3. Torres also  hit a  double, marking her first of the season.
 The  win was their first  at home , bumping their record up to 2-6. As for Lake Minneola, their record now sits at 6-4.
 Lake Minneola suffered a grim  14-1 defeat to Pasco  in their previous meeting  back in March of 2024. Can Lake Minneola avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
