The Sickles Gryphons can now show off 12 landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Wednesday. They breezed by Tampa Bay Tech on the road to the tune of 68-31. With Sickles ahead 50-15 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Beckham Hockley was her usual excellent self, going 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 22 points and 2 assists. She hasn't dropped below 15points for 12 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelsey Sharpe, who scored 13 points along with six assists and five steals.
Tampa Bay Tech's loss came despite strong showings from Azjannie Culberth and Kalese Salter. Culberth dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds, while Salter scored 13 points along with eight steals. Culberth is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Tampa Bay Tech struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Sickles racked up 16 assists.
Sickles pushed their record up to 14-3 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 47.67 points. As for Tampa Bay Tech, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-9.
Sickles will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Spoto at 6:30 p.m. on January 19th. Spoto has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 188 points over their last three contests. As for Tampa Bay Tech, Tampa Bay Tech and Alonso will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
