On Tuesday Grant Vick tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The effort marked the fewest hits Vick has had since back in March of 2024. As if that's not impressive enough, the pitching appearance was his third in a row with less than two hits. This season, he has an ERA of 5 over 6 innings pitched.

Even though Vick couldn't lead East Central over Long Beach, he won't have to wait long to try again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
