The Polo Panthers managed to keep up with the Lawson Cardinals until halftime on Monday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Polo's rough 59-38 defeat to Lawson might stick with them for a while.
Lawson found their leader in underclassman Brogan Crawford, who scored 21 points along with two blocks. Another player making a difference was Andrew Phipps, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Polo dropped their record down to 5-4 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Lawson, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 10-13 record this season.
Polo does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lawson, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Mid-Buchanan at 7:30 p.m. on February 13th. Lawson will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 384th, while Mid-Buchanan is ranked 150th).
