Baseball Recap: Kress Wins Going Away Against Shamrock

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against San Jacinto Christian Academy, Kress was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They never let the Shamrock Irish get on the board and left with a 20-0 win. The contest marked the Kangaroos' most dominant victory of the season.

Riley Bradshaw and Drew Morphis were a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Bradshaw pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Morphis didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 6 strikeouts per game. At the plate, Bradshaw scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Morphis scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. What's more, Morphis posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Jayden Galvan was a standout: he scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2024. Malachi Guzman was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Kress always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .775. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Kress' win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-9. As for Shamrock, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kress will square off against Sudan at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Shamrock, they will take on Sanford-Fritch at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
