Aldine is 9-1 against Dekaney since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Aldine Mustangs will host the Dekaney Wildcats at 2:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Aldine barely beat Alief Elsik the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Aldine never let Alief Elsik get on the board and left with a 9-0 victory on Friday. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Rams recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Felix Melendez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in earned runs (zero). He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Gabriel Nunez and Alfredo Martinez did most of the damage at the plate: Nunez scored two runs while going 1-for-2, while Martinez scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3. That's the most runs Nunez has posted since back in April of 2024. Luis Abrego also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Aldine always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .586. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, everything went Dekaney's way against Mayde Creek on Friday as Dekaney made off with a 9-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won eight contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Micah Green was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single hit and allowed only one earned run over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, scoring a run and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
In other batting news, Adrian Martinez was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Fontenot, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-2.
Dekaney has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 7.7 runs. Aldine's win bumped their record up to 4-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Aldine has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Dekaney struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Aldine was able to grind out a solid victory over Dekaney when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 5-2. Does Aldine have another victory up their sleeve, or will Dekaney turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
