The Clarksville Wildcats were the 60-59 winner over the Dickson County Cougars when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Clarksville fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 57-55. Clarksville's loss continues an unfortunate trend for the team, making it three in a row.
Despite the loss, Clarksville still got an impressive performance from Kellen J Howard, who scored 24 points. Howard hasn't dropped below 17 points for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jabari Jolley, who scored 12 points.
Clarksville has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. As for Dickson County, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clarksville won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st. As for Dickson County, they and the Patriots will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Tennessee (Henry County is ranked 205th, while the Cougars are ranked 194th).
