2A District 5 recap November 13, 2013
Meeker extended the longest winning streak in 2A District 5 this week by beating Holdenville, 44-0. This was the team's 10th consecutive win.
Wellston lost to Okemah 46-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Christopher Murphy was a bright spot for the Tigers, as he ran for 47 yards in the loss.
Alex Wheeland provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Haskell topped Mounds. Wheeland's key target this week was Chris Wright, who caught 4 passes for 65 yards.
Dallas Jackson was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 4 carries, he ran for 161 yards as Meeker bested the Golden Eagles. Leven Hendley also contributed to the rushing game with 49 yards on the ground.
Haskell's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Haymakers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Brody Enkey has thrown for 718 yards and 5 touchdowns this season, while Dillon Dobbins has 29 catches for 364 yards.
The Panthers led the league in scoring this week after putting up 46 points on Wellston.
