The Oak Park Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 60-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of Jackson. While losing is never fun, Oak Park can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 350th, while Jackson is ranked 101st).
Darrion Weller was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points for Jackson. Those 23 points set a new season-high mark for him. Koronnis Davis was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Oak Park's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Jackson, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.
Oak Park will be playing in front of their home fans against Clarkston at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Clarkston has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 3-0 during that stretch of close contests. As for Jackson, they will head out on the road to face off against Waverly at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Waverly's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matches.
