Beaver is 8-2 against Millard since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Beavers will square off against the Eagles at 3:30 p.m. Beaver is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.4 runs per game this season.
Beaver is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering South Sevier just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Rams by a score of 3-2. Beavers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Rams since on Tuesday.
Beaver saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jerzee Beaumont, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.
Meanwhile, Millard entered their tilt with Delta on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 23-5 margin over the Rabbits. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by six runs or more this season.
Jansie Chlarson was a standout: she scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played. Maren Davies was another key player, going 2-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.
Millard hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive contests.
Millard's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-7. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 21.2 runs over those games. As for Beaver, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 15-5.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Beaver hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .361. However, it's not like Millard struggles in that department as they've averaged .378. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Beaver took their victory against Millard when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 11-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Beavers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
