The Northeast Vikings entered their tilt with Boys' Latin Charter with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Northeast strolled past Boys' Latin Charter with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 59-40. Given Northeast's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 88th, while Boys' Latin Charter is ranked 335th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Michael Freeman was his usual excellent self, scoring 15 points along with seven steals and six assists. The contest was his third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Darrius Gaeta, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten assists.
Northeast's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Boys' Latin Charter, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northeast will square off against Simon Gratz at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Boys' Latin Charter, they will head out on the road to face off against Central at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Central is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
