Baseball Recap: Pickett County Has No Trouble Against Red Boiling Springs

Pickett County won the last time they faced Red Boiling Springs and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Bobcats were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Bulldogs. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bobcats.

Jonah Johnson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on two hits and racked up 11 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Pickett County let Jayden Daniels and Eli Reagan run wild. Daniels went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Reagan scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-5. Daniels has become a key player for Pickett County: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-4 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Rex Reagan, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Pickett County now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Red Boiling Springs, they dropped their record down to 1-12 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Pickett County will challenge Clarkrange at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Red Boiling Springs, they will face off against DeKalb County at 12:20 p.m. on Saturday.
